Green (with Envy)

It feels like a VERY VERRRRY long time ago since we three Staple Sisters ensconsed ourselves in our freezing bracing sweatshop of a hovel workshop turning out what felt like a GABILLION (that is an accurate-ish estimate) seat pads for the fabulous routed ply armchairs, sofas and booths at Filwood Green Business Park. These pieces were put together as part of a Knowle West furniture pop-up, aimed at bringing new skills to the neighbourhood. It certainly brought new skills to this particular Easton neighbourhood, where your favourite lady-upholsterers learned how to sew purple (sorry, I mean ‘heather’) hemp fabric from Camira (no, we didn’t smoke it) and how to keep the circulation in our feet going despite sub zero temperatures (we hung up curtains and set fire to the dog and our pet project chairs and huddled round them for a month). By the time we installed these in the Spring we were feeling proper bonkers. That’s almost worn off.

Boom:

Oh yeah. WE are FLY.
